Ugg President Anne Spangenberg on Why It’s ‘Pivotal To Challenge the Way Things Have Always Been’: Women Who Rock

Ugg president Anne Spangenberg believes learning experiences are crucial in shaping an inclusive environment.

“One thing I prioritize, and something everyone can do, is to give teams the opportunity to present and educate others on their expertise,” the Deckers Brands executive told FN. “Not every meeting or presentation has to be led by the leader. We welcome all opinions at all levels and see the value in crediting those responsible for the brand’s success.”

In addition to providing learning opportunities to promote rising female talent in the industry, Spangenberg noted that offering communities, forums, and development programs at all levels of leadership are crucial so that women can support, engage, and learn from each other.

“Electing and showcasing women with different backgrounds, strengths, and capabilities in top positions allows young leaders to see that there is not one singular model for success,” the footwear exec said. “As the next generation comes into the industry, it’s pivotal to challenge the way things have always been to create space for experiences, ideas, and voices that we don’t always hear.”

As for how to empower the next generation, Spangenberg said that leaders have to intentionally create inclusive cultures where people feel compelled to bring their voices, experience, and ideas to the tables.

“That’s where creativity is born, and that’s just smart business,” she maintained. “Secondly, we have to promote the mindset that everyone can be a leader regardless of their job title, education level, or age. We don’t, and shouldn’t, have one narrow model for success. It’s our responsibility to empower the next generation to be authentically themselves and use their voice. All it takes is one great idea, and it can come from anyone.”

Ariana Grande Wears Sculptural Brown Pumps at AFI Awards in Los Angeles

Ariana Grande attended the AFI Awards held on Thursday in Los Angeles. The musician attended alongside her “Wicked” co-star Cynthia Erivo.

The “7 Rings” songstress popped into a pair of rich deep brown pumps. The chosen pair included glossy chocolate brown leather uppers accompanied by rounded toes and what appeared to be equally unique sculptural heels. The style closely resembles Loewe’s Toy silhouette.

Neutral footwear is a must-have for many. A good simple pump can act as a supporting actor of sorts, allowing the ensemble to take the spotlight. During Grande’s lengthy “Wicked” press tour, she’s often been spotted in neutral-toned footwear from brands like Stuart Weitzman, Schiaparelli and Jimmy Choo, among others.

The “Don’t Look Up” star partnered her sculptural pumps with a silky custom gown from Loewe. The dress was sleeveless and boxy, crafted of a champagne-colored silk fabric. On the accessories front, Grande toted a white Loewe Flamenco clutch.

When it comes to shoes, Grande often opts for platform sandals and pumps by Versace, Givenchy and GCDS. Stiletto pumps from Jimmy Choo and Giuseppe Zanotti are also common in her red carpet rotation. When off-duty, the “Positions” singer can be seen in Laurence Decade and Sergio Rossi ankle boots, as well as Prada and Ugg slippers.

Grande is currently nominated for “Best Supporting Actress” for her role in “Wicked.” The cast of the hit film also includes Michelle Yeoh, Jonathan Bailey, Bowen Yang and Jeff Goldblum. The adaptation acts as a prequel to “The Wizard of Oz,” and recounts everything that happened before Dorothy made her way down the yellow brick road.
