Emilia Perez’ star Selena Gomez stood largely alone on Sunday night at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival. As the Netflix project which also stars Karla Sofia Gascon and Zoe Saldana is the subject of controversy, Gomez picked up a Virtuoso Award from the event without Gascon who was supposed to accompany her. “Some of the magic has disappeared, but I choose to continue to be proud of what I’ve done,” she said on stage at the event, referring to the scandal.
Gomez chose an innocent all-white look for the honor. She wore a sleeveless Magda Butrym minidress featuring 30D floral detail. She also wore silver Messika rings.
For shoes, stylist Erin Walsh kept up with a silhouette that Gomez has been wearing a lot recently: a slingback pump. The star has been wearing them at least since she was promoting “Emilia Perez” at the Cannes International Film Festival. Her most recent pair were Santoni’s Audrey silhouette in white patent leather.
The Audrey is a Santoni slingback featuring a pointed toe and rounded vamp. Most notably, its slingback features a cutout on one side. As a result, the shoe has two side buckles, side by side making for a unique design. The insole features the Santoni branding and is lined in Santoni orange. While the Audrey comes in a variety of heights, Gomez chose the tallest stiletto coming in at almost five inches.
The sole is also the signature Santoni orange. Santoni, which is one of the oldest luxury footwear labels still in existence, is one of a handful of brands with signature sole colors. This includes Christian Louboutin with red, Rene Caovilla with a glittery “stardust,” as well as Betsey Johnson and Manc which both favor shades of blue.
